Prescott...
In my opinion there were many despicable people in the Blair
cabinet, but none quite so bad as that class war hypocrite John Prescott.
The damage he inflicted on Britain during his tenure as
Deputy Prime Minister is immeasurable. In fact the whole department was a
complete waste of public money, created by Blair to appease the old Labour
guard who were unsure about supporting the principles (or lack of) of the new,
revamped party.
I, like many others, though that once Prescott retired he
would disappear into obscurity...
But, no. Not only has Lord (God help us) Prescott
appeared on the box in a car insurance commercial, but every now and again the
BBC wheels this old fossil out to act out a role of “elder statesman”.
The latest farce comes from the 12 Billion pounds of tax-payers’ money being wasted on the NHS Computer
System. Prescott ordered this and is directly responsible for this waste. However,
this oaf has blamed Civil Servants for letting the cost of this getting out of
hand.
“Why,” he cried, “was I not told about this at the time?”
I’ll tell you why:
It’s because there was (is?) a culture of bullying within
the Civil Service, brought about by Labour policy of removing old guard senior
Civil Servants and replacing them with sycophantic puppets, who then set about
replacing staff below them with useless yes men/women.
This meant that anybody having the gumption to criticise
any schemes or the implementation of schemes would be side-lined or removed.
All this purely to make sure that the “powers that be” do not hear bad news.
If things did go t’s up, never mind, we’ll find some
unsuspecting Admin Officer and pin the blame on them...
So, Mr Prescott, this is why you weren’t told about the
increasing rise of the cost of this doomed enterprise. Civil Servants were
scared to tell you that the thing was a waste of time, because if they did,
they would have been replaced by Civil Servants who would have told you how
wonderfully well everything was going....
