Afghan Attitude...

President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan has declared his support for the Afghan Ulema’s declaration in relation to the separation of girls and women from men in working, education and other environments.

2 points:

1) Why is it that ill educated men seem to be bent on oppressing women? Is it because they feel threatened? The whole middle-age attitude towards women in that part of the world stinks, and it is down to ignorance and barbarism...

2) If the Afghanistan parliament is going to take heed of the religious bigots in the Ulema, then what in the hell are British troops doing there? If that country wants to remain in the Dark Ages then so be it. Let’s get our young men and women out of there with a proviso that if we find any evidence of Afghanistan’s involvement in terrorism in Britain, then we would return with a few nuclear devises and reduce major cities to waste.

If Afghanis really wish to partake in the modern world, then they need to kick these old chauvinists in to touch. Somehow, though, I can’t see that happening...
