Water Cannon

By now I have, by in large, decided that the UK is better off staying in the EU. Not because it's perfect, by any means, but because the alternative is worse.

I view with interest the various comments posted on Facebook and Twitter on the subject and I find most of them somewhat amusing. However, there does seem to a particular level of delusion to those from the Brexit side of the fence.

These mainly consists of the fear of hundreds of  migrants heading to these shore for the express purpose of fleecing the hard-working British tax-payer of their hard earned cash. Never mind about the hundreds of lazy British-born sods who sit there collecting benefits when they could be doing the work that these immigrants are doing.
Lets not forget the European Court on Human Rights, another bug-bear of the Brexit mob. Naturally not many seem to grasp the fact that the ECoHR is not related to the EU and was instigate by Britain soon after WW2.

However, yesterday I came across this on FB

The image itself I find little daft, but the comments attached to it seem to show the mentality of Brexit.

No least of which the reply that I got from my post on this:

The suggesting being that Britain was the lone fighter during WW2 and that the British were solely responsible for the demise of Nazi Germany.

Well, let me burst your bubble folks:

Germany was defeated by the combined forces from many countries. True, Britain served as a base, but this was due to the Battle of Britain victory, which included French, Canadian, Polish, India and American pilots.
Once the shores were secured, the offensive was planned and carried out by troops from America, Canada, France, Poland (those damn Poles eh?) and more, as well as British tommys.

So, let us look at the threats here. If the UK leave the EU, Scotland will immediately push for a referendum and will leave the UK to be part of the EU, this isn't speculation, it is fact.
Wales will do its damned best to do the same. Only NI will remain loyal to the Crown.

So all of the sudden, this once great nation would be fragmented and left alone in the world of global politics, pathetically scrabbling for whatever scraps the big boys deign to throw at it.

So, if you think that you are being patriotic by pushing the UK out of the EU, think again...
