Football Scheduling
Here we are in the festive period and, as regular as clockwork, we have a football manager complaining about the number of games that have been scheduled.
This time it was Steve Bruce who said that playing five games in 13 days is "puzzling".
Well, let me tell you this Steve, it’s not that puzzling. You see, the average working man has a bit of time off around this festive season and one of the things that he enjoys is a little bit of footy.
Now I don’t think that it is too unreasonable to ask a man who earns more a week that most do a year to put in a little extra effort to entertain. Come, on let’s face it, it’s not like we are asking them to do much. After all, a 90 min game with half-time, plus time to get changed before the game and chance for a shower and food after the game, means that all in all your footballer will spend about 4 hours in the day to earn their money. By any standard that is not too onerous, is it?
Please remember, you pampered pricks, that all that you are is owed to the general public that is paying for your hedonistic live-styles by paying subscriptions to SKY, going to the matches, buying merchandise, etc...
So don’t you DARE complain about playing a few more games around Christmas and whining that you are tired after a busy schedule. Think about the working man and what he has to do so he can enjoy seeing some of his “heroes”.
