Mobile Security?

OK, what the News of The World did was bang out of order. Hacking voicemails is wrong, unless it is sanctioned by Law.

The first thing that came into my mind, though, was: “How did they do this?”

Surely to goodness the mobile ‘phone companies need to check their security. I mean neither Clive Goodman nor Glenn Mulcaire, who were jailed as a result of a previous inquiry, come across as particularly technical types.

If reporters can hack all of these ‘phones then how easy is it to do it?

How can we protect ourselves from such an invasion?

Please can a mobile ‘phone company come out and state that their security is spot-on and that those who are able to hack into accounts have been specially trained by MI6...
