Leveson
What a waste of time and money the Leveson Enquiry is.
If it just concerned itself with the appalling way that
the press behaved(s) towards ordinary folks who never wanted to be in the lime-light,
such as the McCanns and the Dowlers, then it would have some relevance.
Instead, we hearing the whining and whingeing of
celebrities, who chose to step into the glare of publicity and have made a good
living out of it.
Boo-hoo, Hugh Grant – caught with a 2 bit hooker
Boo-hoo, Sienna Miller – model / actress once married to Jude Law
Boo-hoo, Max Mosley – caught in an orgy
Boo-hoo, Sheryl Gascoigne – WAG, BTW, why haven’t you changed
you name back as your divorce?
Etc, etc...
My interest to celebrity gossip is minimal, but each one
of these chose to enter the spotlight and it is a fact of life once in that
spotlight, your life is scrutinised. The financial rewards meant that you can
protect your privacy to a certain extent, but the general public always has had
a fascination in celebrity lifestyle and the media responds to that need.
Yes the press can be out-of-order and ordinary folks need
to be protected from some of their less savoury practices, but this enquiry is being
used by the insipid, attention seeking hoo-ha’s to cry about how their lives
are awful because of the press...
