More on Pensions
Even lord Hutton, a Labour peer, has concluded that public
worker pensions have to change in his enquiry.
Unions, who have no consideration for the country and who
are completely and utterly selfish in their ambitions, are saying that “their
members will have to work longer and pay more, but get less”
Welcome to the real world. This is the case for ALL of
us. Why should the public sector be any different to the private one?
There are many people out there who simply do not have
pensions, let at alone final salary ones. In fact, low-paid private workers are
less likely to have pension than their public equivalent.
The old argument that public sector workers earn less
than their private sector colleagues is no longer true. I know this from
personal experience.
I used to be a Civil Servant, working in IT support. The
Agency I worked for outsourced their support to IBM. In the 6 years that I was
with IBM I did not get a single pay rise, indeed, I lost income as I a) had to
pay more for my pension and b) my shift allowance was manoeuvred away. Civil
Servants, at the same time, have had regular pay rises, most slightly above
inflation.
Yes, it is sad that workers have to work harder and
longer for less to pay for the economic madness of 13 years of Labour but ALL
of us have to contribute, that include Public Workers, Civil Servants, Private
Sector workers and, yes, even the bankers.
