Guid in a Kilt II

 

Kilt has arrived. A nice black one. Good material, all the accoutrements, including a sporran :0)

However, I've come across a couple of issues

First of all, the thing sits on your waist, which is great if you have a 6-pack. The problem is that I don't have a 6-pack, not even a 4-pack. In fact I have a small barrel, which I can usually successfully camouflage with hip sitting trousers and baggy shirts.

No such luck with the kilt. It made me look like an enormous crow. The look was improved with the introduction of the sporran, but this still somewhat destroyed the self-image that I had:

The other problem is that the thing is simply too formal. Its a bit like wearing a tuxedo out to the pub.

So in an effort to fulfil my ambitions (for what their worth) I have ordered a denim style garment which should be less formal and..... I am embarking on a program to reduce the aforementioned small barrel to at least a 2-pack

Now is this some sort of manifestation of a mid-life crisis? Probably....
