Marriage Farce
What is all the fuss about gay marriages? It’s not like
society cares about marriage, 3 decades of liberal influences saw to that.
These days marriage is an excuse for an over-the-top
stag/hen do, involving drunken high-jinx and a massive party which causes
stress to organise and put the “happy couple” into a debt they will only pay
off until after they have divorced.
Marriage is meaningless these days, so let those who still believe
in the magic of wedlock indulge in it, whatever their sexuality…
The worry is apparently that over time, the church will end up having to offer marriages, and they'll not be able to avoid their legal obligations. I can't see why people would want their marriages in church if the church is wholly [room for a pun there - holy] opposed to gay marriage. On that basis, why not say yes to gay marriages. However, surely it's up to a dress-wearing vicar if he wants to carry out a ceremony. And there you have it, another level of confusion, with a high percentage of priests being gay. Live and let live is the end result.
